We Don’t Need ‘Irresponsible, Unpatriotic’ Aduomi in NPP- Hopeson Adorye

“Irresponsible” and “unpatriotic” persons like Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, are not welcomed in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Hopeson Adorye has said.

Mr. Adorye claims that failure on the part of Mr. Aduomi to defend the party in public shows that he cannot be trusted in the future.

The former deputy minister for Roads and Highways, caused a stir on TV after he stated that he can’t defend President Akufo-Addo on issues relating to economic hardships.

“I did not say we are sitting on wealth (money) but we are suffering. If you see President Akufo-Addo then you ask him that question. He may have his reason for saying that so I cannot defend that for him”, the former NPP MP for Ejisu said.

Reacting to the news on Wontumi TV, Mr. Hopeson Adorye stated that this isn’t the first time Mr. Aduomi has betrayed the party in public.

According to him, in 2016 when the NPP which was then in opposition was blasting former President John Mahama on corruption, Mr. Aduomi rather sided with the NDC and said they were not corrupt.

“Akufo-Addo didn’t put any hate in his heart, when he won power, he appointed you (Aduomi) as deputy minister of Roads”, Mr. Adorye said.

Aduomi’s Chairmanship bid in tatters

Mr. Adorye continued that the behavior of Mr. Aduomi disqualifies him from contesting as Ashanti Regional Chairman for the NPP.

“He has no moral right to become regional chairman. You can’t defend the President and you expect to Regional Chairman”, Mr. Adorye said.
