Trial of Oliver-Barker: It’s Unnecessary to Besiege Court – Kpemka

Joseph Kpemka, a former deputy Attorney General has said it is unnecessary for supporters and sympathisers of #FixTheCountry convener, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, to besiege the court to show their solidarity for their embattled leader.

Barker-Vormawor, who is facing a charge of treason felony for his rant on social media over an alleged coup attempt appeared in court on Monday and was met by supporters and sympathisers at the Ashiaman District Court.

However, the deputy Attorney General condemned the court “invasion”, stating that it poses a security threat.

Speaking to Beatrice Adu on The Big Bulletin on Monday (28 February), Kpemka said: “We should allow the law to work. If in the end, he is innocent, he’ll walk. And if he’s innocent and he thinks that he has been wrongfully tried or arrested, there’s a remedy, he’s a lawyer. So, the issue of massing up at court premises and posing as a security threat and what not, for me is just not necessary at all.”
