The People’s Manifesto Has Now Become Akufo-Addo’s Handbook – Sammy Gyamfi Jabs

The Communications Director for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has alleged that the Nana Addo-led New Patriotic Party cannot seem to stay off the NDC’s manifesto.

According to Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC’s working document dubbed the People’s Manifesto has become President Akufo-Addo’s referral handbook on campaign promises.

Mr. Gyamfi on Fox FM’s Eboboba, on Monday, opined that the NPP is very surprised about the depth of knowledge and work that went into compiling their party’s manifesto and that will cause a wind of change.

“This Peoples Manifesto has birthed a new dawn of hope; there are smiles on the faces of Ghanaians now, because this document resonates with the change, enthusiasm, joy and development everyone desires.”

He added that: “The NPP who pride themselves as the epitome of wisdom and do not appreciate the opinions of others are now copying our ideas and this has vindicated our flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, that reaching out to the ordinary Ghanaian for their views, expectations on this project, was worth the try.”

The NDC Communications Director was happy about how their policies had seemingly caught up with electorates and hence becoming a centre of discussion across the country.

“Although the NDC hasn’t won the 2020 elections yet, our manifesto is already taking lead in national discourses. The Peoples Manifesto is indeed now President Akufo-Addo’s handbook. He keeps monitoring it day and night, trying to see which idea he can steal but the truth is that he cannot even execute our policies better than we can if he’s lucky to spot one.”

He touted the NDC’s infrastructural achievements in the Ashanti region including the new Kejetia Market, the expansion of the Kumasi airport and aeronautical lighting project, recreational centre Rattray Park, 12 community day senior high schools, major water projects, 3 satellite markets in Atonsu, Asawase, Tafo some regional hospital facilities at Kumawu, Afari, Fomena, Konongo and Tepa which have since stalled after their exit in 2016.

The firebrand spokesperson-cum lawyer intimated that although Mr. Mahama never gets 30 percent of votes in the Ashanti region, his dedication to better the lives of residents in the jurisdiction was unparalleled.

“The NPP knows that the Ashanti region, which they claim to be their stronghold, will hoot at them, if they decide to launch any sort of campaign here, ahead of December. This is because there’s nothing specific in their manifesto purposely targeted at alleviating the hardship the region is currently encountering; in fact, the electorate is less bothered about the details of their manifesto.”
