Tell Us The National Debt, We Want To Know; Why Are You Quiet? – Haruna Iddrisu To Akufo-Addo

Minority leader Haruna Iddrisu right after the President’s State of the Nation’s Address yesterday questioned him on why he had decided to stay mute on Ghana’s debt stock as compared to his previous addresses.

“Interesting today he is quiet about the state of the national debt. What is the national debt? We want to know,” the Minority leader taunted while seconding the motion for the adjournment of proceedings in the chamber after the President finished reading the address.

Meanwhile Della Sowah, the Member of Parliament for Kpando has indicated that President Akufo-Addo’s State of the Nation’s Address for the first time in his second term was only a rebrand of 2020’s nation address.

“The address was repackaging of the 2020 ones. The LGBTQ+ issue is what everyone wanted him to comment but there was no sign of that but there was Agyapa. In Ghana, 70% are Christians and 81% are Muslims and 5% belong to the Traditional Religion. Which of these religions subscribe to the LGBTQ+. The nation is calling for the president to make a statement on LGBTQ and that was not done. So I will say that it was uninspiring,” she said.
