Support E-Levy For Job Creation – Ken Ofori-Atta To Ghanaians

Published

Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta has urged the youth to embrace the electronic levy (E-Levy), which is tied to the YouStart project, which promotes youth entrepreneurship and job development.

“The E-Levy is a critical tool for ensuring that we have the funds to invest in entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, and road infrastructure, as well as pay our obligations,” he stated.

Mr Ofori-Atta also claimed that the E-Levy would prevent the government from borrowing from the money market, forcing it to fight for cash with the private sector, a practice known as ‘crowding out the private sector.’

The minister was speaking at the University of Ghana’s Youth School, which was added to the annual New Year School and Conference for 2022.

The university’s School of Continuing and Distance Education is hosting it with the theme “COVID-19 and Ghana’s Socioeconomic Dynamics.”
