National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Director, Sammy Gyamfi has told the Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare to read his bible well and stop meddling in spiritual issues.

He indicated that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) is an elder at his church hence he should read the Bible well because he wouldn’t caution prophets against prophecies on 31st December.

Recall the IGP released a press statement cautioning prophets and pastors to be circumspect in their communication of prophecy as if could attract prosecution.

His statement reads, “We want to caution that under Ghanaian law, it is a crime for a person to publish or reproduce a statement, rumour or report which is likely to cause fear and alarm to the public or to disturb the public peace, where that person has no evidence to prove that the statement, rumour or report is true”.

“It is also a crime for a person, by means of electronic communications service, to knowingly send a communication that is false or misleading and likely to prejudice the efficiency of life saving service or to endanger the safety of any person,” the statement signed by Superintendent Alexander Obeng, the Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service”

Well, Sammy Gyamfi in a lengthy post has told the IGP to focus on the core mandate of fighting crimes instead of meddling in matters of faith.
