Convoy conveying Second lady, Samira Bawumia and other New Patriotic Party faithfuls have been involved in an accident at the intersection between Anhwiakwanta and Ofoase Kokoben in the Ashanti region.

The convoy, according to reports, was returning from a rally at Dompoase when the incident occurred.

Confirming the incident, the Bekwai MTTD commander, ASP Francis Yaw Ekoh, told Kumasi FM’s Elisha Adarkwah that the second lady was returning from Fomena Dompease.

“So we all rushed there including the Divisional Commander and the MC. When we got there, we met three ambulances and we found out from them what happened.

“They said it was the second lady who was passing. She was returning from a rally at Dompoase so when they got there, this Reverend Father was ahead of them so he stopped, when he stopped he allowed all the convoy to pass.

“Having realised that there were some remaining behind, he wanted to branch to his place. The other car too was also at top speed and without due care hit the driver’s side of the Reverend Father’s car and they all went into the ditch,” ASP Ekoh narrated.

The injured have been conveyed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for further treatment.

The second lady, Samira Bawumia remains safe and sound.
