A National Youth Organizer hopeful of the NPP, Michael Osei Boateng, popularly known as Pope has launched a scathing attack on former National Youth Organizer of the NPP, Sammi Awuku for “fooling” the party’s youth organizers in 2010.

In a recorded audio which appears to be a conversation between Pope and some delegates of the Party, he is heard making several remarks about some of his comrades, notably Mr. Sammi Awuku.

Pope claimed that when Mr. Awuku was aspiring to be elected as the NPP’s National Youth Organizer in 2010, he (Sammi Awuku) promised to see to it that National Passports are acquired for Party Youth Organizers but failed to fulfil his promise when he was handed the mandate.

Pope is heard in the audio saying, “When Sammi Awuku was coming, he promised to get passports for all of us, did he do it?”

“Even those who managed to get the passports, where did they travel to?”, he continued.

In the over 11 minutes audio, Pope is also heard making remarks about his colleague Youth Organizer hopeful, Abanga Fuseini Yakubu, insisting that nobody should make a case for his (Abanga’s) election merely on the grounds that he is a Northerner.

According to Pope, the NPP with its Akan majority elected Anthony Karbo of Northern origin because he was competent enough for the job and not merely because of his origin.
