Owusu Bempah Is Being Victimized Because He Chose Alan Kyeremanten Over Bawumia – Sammy Gyamfi

National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has said Leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah is only being victimised because he chose to back Alan Kyeremanteng over Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the NPP flagbearership.

Owusu Bempah was arrested on Sunday, September 12, together with three other members of his church. On Monday, he was charged with offensive conduct conducive to breach of peace, the threat of death, and assault of office public officers.

He has however been granted bail to the tune of GHS200,000 with two sureties by an Accra High court.

Speaking on the issue, Sammy Gyamfi said Rev Bempah’s arest had nothing to do with his threats against agradaa rather his decision to ignore Bawumia.

“One prophet is leading Bawumia agenda. Owusu Bempah and his cohorts are also on Alan’s side. It’s all about the power struggle in the NPP. They were looking for a way to deal with him and he brought himself,” he said on Okay FM.

“Have you seen one person fighting? He has been charged with disturbing public peace, why did they not arrest the person he was fighting with. Their stories are inaccurate. If the IGP says he is a no-nonsense man, he should arrest the persons who assaulted Nanka Bruce. Crime has no expiry date. He should go and arrest those who attacked a court of competent jurisdiction. If (Owusu Bempah) had not joined them and attacked Mahama, he would not have done this to him so if he’ll come back from cells and attack Mahama, it’s on him”.
