Our Problem Is That We Failed To Tell Our Supporters What We Can And Cannot Do As MPs – Muntaka On Crisis In Minority Caucus

MP for Asawase, and Chief Whip of the minority caucus in Parliament, Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka has said that the current crisis in the minority caucus is as a result of bad Communication.

The minority caucus, especially it’s leadership has come under intense backlash from NDC Supporters in the wake of the approval of President Akufo-Addo’s ministerial nominees.

The NDC Supporters were of the view that with the almost equal strength of the Parties in Parliament, the minority MPs would have been able to at least block the Appointments of some nominees who they believe are not fit to be ministers.

However, even the most controversial nominees who were expected to have a hard time, have sailed through the vetting process and have obtained the Approval of parliament to become substantive ministers.

This has led to serious attacks on the minority, especially the caucus leadership, from even among their own colleague MPs.

However, Mr Muntaka believes all this comes down to a Communication problem.

Speaking in an interview with Dzifa Bampoh on the First Take programme on 3FM Wednesday March 31,  Mr Muntaka said “Little did we anticipate some of the things that were happening? We should have done more education this time round before even we started so that we all understand exactly  what we are doing and how  it is going to happen.

“Unfortunately, we missed that bit so I think communication has been one of the biggest problems that affect us.
