‘Okada’ Riders Can Be Made To Drive Uber, Bolt – Chairman Wontumi

Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi Bosiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi has suggested safer alternative jobs can be provided for ‘okada’ riders since their business is a risky one.

Speaking on Security Tips on Wontumi TV he noted that the work of okada riders puts all road users at risk and there it is his hope the Akufo Addo led government find them a better alternative job.

He explained that okada riders have not been stopped from operating currently, however, they could be supported to venture into other transport businesses like Bolt, Uber and others.

The NPP and opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are in an okada tug of war ahead of the December polls as both parties try to convince riders on the best policy for them.
