No One Trusts Shifty Politicians – Ras Mubarak ‘Flays’ Haruna Iddrisu, NDC Caucus For Turning Around To Endorse Gov’t’s e-levy

Former NDC MP for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak has expressed disappointment in the minority caucus for failing to stand their ground in opposing government’s e-transactions levy.

The NDC Caucus had made their position very clear that they were never going to support government’s attempt to introduce a 1.75% tax on electronic transactions.

This formed the minority caucus’ basis for rejecting the 2022 budget last week.

However, Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu, yesterday sung a different tune when he said that he has now come to understand and appreciate government’s position on the said levy.

The honorable minority leader, however, is pleading with government to consider reducing the levy from 1.75% to 1%.

However, in a Facebook post, Ras Mubarak stated that nobody trusts in politicians who are shifty.

According to the former MP, Ghanaians are not interested in the e-levy and that should end the matter.

Meanwhile, Parliament is expected to agree on the way forward with regards to the 2022 budget at their next sitting next week.

It Is believed that the two caucuses have finally managed to find common ground.
