No One In His Right Sense Will Allow Tsikata Cross-Examine Even His Sister – Franklin Cudjoe
IMANI Africa boss, Franklin Cudjoe has sarcastically suggested that nobody in their right frame of mind will put their client or sister up to be cross-examined by an astute lawyer like Tsatsu Tsikata.
This comes after lawyers for the 1st respondent in the ongoing election petition refused to allow EC Chair, Jean Mensah mount the witness box to be cross-examined.
Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata argued that the EC chairperson showed readiness for cross-examination when she filed a witness statement and supporting affidavits in response to the petitioner.
However, Â the first respondent also argues that the rules of the court, specifically Order 38 (4)(4) of the High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, C.I. 47 allowed the EC, which is the first respondent in the petition, not to adduce evidence.
Adding his voice to the back and forth, Franklin Cudjoe tweeted: “actually, who in his or her right frame of mind seeing what Tsatsu is doing will put his or her sister in harm’s way by forcing her into a witness box? Please understand.”

Agyemang Manu, Oppong Nkrumah And 2 Others To Be Rejected As Ministers Over Airport Testing Contract
Four ministerial nominees are set to be disapproved by the Appointments Committee due to possible perjury regarding the Frontiers Healthcare Solution Services contract.
The Minority MPs on the Appointments Committee say they will do everything possible to vote against the approval of Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, Sarah Adwoa Safo and Kwaku Ofori Asiamah for their deliberate hiding of critical information on the contract awarded to Frontiers Healthcare Solution Services to undertake COVID-19 testing at the Kotoka International Airport.
“What we have witnessed at the ongoing proceedings of the Appointments Committee is a shocking spectacle of lack of accountability, responsibility, outright disregard for our laws and utter disrespect for the people of this country,” Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (NDC- North Tongu), who has been consistent in asking the details of the contract from the nominees told Joy News Thursday, monitored by GhanaWeb.
“It is totally unconscionable that when people are dying and when there is a pandemic, a cabal will emerge and their only interest is profiteering.”
The NDC MPs believe that the nominees refused to speak to the details relating to the controversial contract when they appeared before the Appointments Committee as part of their vetting, even though they were related to the matter at some point when the contract was being awarded.
He added, “This will play a significant part in our considerations, particularly, ministers who had direct responsibility for health, [and] procurement, for maintaining the compliance and safety standards. So, you can be assured that it will be a crucial factor when we take a vote.”
Okudzeto Ablakwa hinted that the NDC caucus in Parliament will move a motion when parliament resumes, “for a full scale bipartisan parliamentary enquiry into the scandal”.
“It has all the signs of blatant thievery, corruption and outright disregard for our laws,” he stressed.
When asked if indeed the MPs were not aware of the Frontiers contract, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa stated categorically that the Transport Minister nominee presented to the Appointments Committee some “wishy-washy” contract which appeared largely to focus on granting of space to the Frontiers Healthcare Solution Services by the Ghana Airports Company Limited.

Release All ‘Wee’ Smokers Now If You Can’t Jail Corrupt Politicians – A-Plus Fumes
Musician cum Politician, Kwame Asare Obeng also known as A-Plus has charged the Ghana Police to refrain from apprehending marijuana (wee) smokers and channel their energy on corrupt politicians.
In a post on Facebook he wondered why wee smokers are arrested while cigarrete smokers are made to walk freely meanwhile they both pose health risks.
He further bemoaned how a single individual has been jailed for corruption in recent times yet the youth keep wasting their years in jail just because they possessed wee.
See full post below:
“Stop arresting wee smokers!!!! Too many young people have wasted their lives in jail just because they were caught in possession of the leaf of a plant. This is 2021 and all human beings convicted of wee smoking must be released immediately. Corruption is more dangerous than wee smoking. However, not a single person has been jailed in this country for corruption.
“What sense dose it make for a policeman to meet two people, one smoking weed and the other smoking cigarette, but arrest the wee smoker while the cigarette smokers is allowed to walk free.
“The wee smokers they say will go mad and eventually die. The cigarette smokers will also die of smoking-related diseases.
“In fact, the dangers of cigarette smoking is even boldly written on the pack. So what is the point? Wee death is no different from cigarette death?“ Release all persons convicted of wee smoking now!!! This nonsense must stop immediately! Immediately!!!”

Legally, Mahama’s Petition Was Not Handled Well – Lawyer
Private legal practitioner, Lawyer Obiri Boahen has indicated that the lawyers for the petitioner in the ongoing 2020 Presidential polls did not help matters.
According to him the lawyers failed the petitioner in presenting a valid case before the court.
He furthered that witnesses for the petitioner also failed to convince the court with their statements.
“Lawyers of Mahama failed to prosecute the case well. That is the truth everyone is failing to speak. People are afraid to tell Mahama the truth. His lawyers failed to prosecute the case well. Legally speaking, the case was not well handled,” he was quoted by rainbowradioonline.
Lawyer Obiri Boahen however, noted that the EC could be summoned by Parliament to explain the errors in the Presidential results.
