No Government Is Bigger Than The Party That Brought It To Power – Koku Anyidoho Praises Government For Listening To The NPP’s Advice In The Agyapa Deal

Former Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Samuel Koku Anyidoho has praised the government of President Akufo-Addo for listening to the advice of the New Patriotic Party to consult with the CSOs in the infamous Agyapa Royalties deal.

The Akufo-Addo government has come under a barrage of attack from a confederation of civil society organisations who have questioned the government’s motives in the Agyapa Royalties deal, describing the deal as one that is shrouded in too much mystery.

However, despite the initial strong stance taken by the government to forge ahead with the deal despite the gargantuan opposition, the NPP party itself, which gave birth to the government is reported to have advised the government to sit down with the concerned CSOs and hear their arguments and concerns.

This, Mr Anyidoho believes is the right way to go as he took to Twitter to express his opinions. He wrote, “the manner in which the NPP Party whipped the government into line to jaw-jaw with the CSOs over the Agyapa deal when it seemed government wanted to call their bluff, is commendable. No government must be bigger than the party that gave birth to it. Party First”
