NDC’s Kwakye Ofosu Takes On Presby Moderator For Tagging Agenda 111 Critics As ‘Witches’

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has wondered why anyone will be tagged a witch just by criticising a project of the ruling government.

This comes after the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Prof. J.O.Y. Mante chided critics of the government’s agenda 111 hospitals.

According to him, it’ll take only a witch to oppose such project considering the mass poverty and poor health infrastructures around the country.

“My biggest surprise Mr. Chairman, is that with the poverty that we live in, someone offers to build 111 health centres and some people are still angry. Is this not a case of witchcraft? Because I can never understand, we allow politics to eat too much into our affairs,” he said at the opening of an upgraded health facility belonging to the Church – the Assin Praso Presby Hospital.

But in a Facebook post reacting to this development, Mr Kwakye Ofosu said “Apparently, you can unwittingly earn the tag of a witch or wizard for being a critic of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government.”
