NDC, NPP Members Stab Each Other At Daboya Registration Centre

Published

on

Members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) had been engaged in an open fight and a stabbing spree at Daboya in the North Gonja District (Daboya-Mankarigu Constituency) of the Savannah Region on Friday July 24.

According to Nkilgi FM’s correspondent at Daboya, Musah Mahama Asafo, the fight was sparked by a confusion in the eligibility of some bused persons into Daboya to register for the voter card. The NDC said they had a tip off that a busload of people were being brought from  Mpaha in the Central Gonja District to Daboya to register therefore they laid ambush in wait to verify if they were truly indigenes of Daboya.

Upon arrival, the NDC noted only 3 of the 18 people in the bus hailed from Daboya which resulted in a protest leading to an open fight where they stabbed each other till the police came in.

“One Suslisu Tuntundani alias Macho, a coordinator of NDC in Daboya West Electoral Area was stabbed by one Fataw Abdulai who is one of the vigilantes for NPP in Daboya- Mankarigu constituency and a close aid to Alhaji Mahama Asei, NPP Parliamentary candidate,” the NDC in the Daboya- Mankarigu Constituency said.

The Deputy NDC Constituency Secretary for the Daboya-Mankarigu Constituency Mr Zezebi Nashiru also said “he (Fataw Abdulai) is known to be the leader of the vigilantes who is poised to spill blood anytime anywhere. This guy lives in the same house with the desperate Parliamentary candidate and he uses him in every dirty job in the Constituency including alleged ‘maiming’ of people.”

He added, “some few days ago he was the leader of the vigilantes who went to Gua with rifles to frighten the people of Gua leading to the low turnout. They recorded 334 registrants instead of 387 recorded in 2019”.

The NDC further added, “In another development, One Musah Dambol who is also a brother of the NPP Parliamentary candidate pulled out a gun to shoot but was only restraint by the crowd. As if this is not enough, one Yussif Fahad who is also a vigilante attempted to stab one NDC man but had to wound himself in that process”; the NDC said.

“We, therefore, appeal to the security agencies in the Savannah Region to immediately arrest these thugs for the meantime and finally, crush this vigilante with force failure which we will have no option than to defend ourselves”; the Daboya- Mankarigi NDC threatened.

Mohammed Issa, the Director of Communications of NPP for the Savannah Region in astatement also alleged that the NDC stabbed one of its party agents.

“An NPP party agent has been stabbed by thugs of the Member of Parliament for Daboya Mankarigu Constituency, Hon Shaibu Mahama. Another person from NPP is also in the same facility for a similar attack. The said Musah is currently at home with his gun and asking anyone who can pick him up to do so.”

The statement further read, “The NPP in the Savannah Region is calling on the District Police Command to as a matter of urgency pick up this hooligan to step down the tension in the area.”

Akufo-Addo Can’t Protect You, Kick Him Out – Agalga Tells Ghanaians

Published

on

Former Deputy Interior Minister under the erstwhile Mahama administration, James Agalga, has urged Ghanaians to kick out President Akufo-Addo in the December 2020 polls.

According to him, the continuous lawlessness by secessionist group, Western Togoland and government’s inability to tackle it depicts a sense of insecurity glaring at the face of the President.

“As a political party, we have always sounded a caution that government’s failure to provide the security of our citizenry is worrying which is why we are asking that this incompetent government be changed in the first place. The promises are so much, particularly in the security sector, they made so many promises and noise about insecurity in our country. Today, insecurity is staring boldly at Akufo-Addo’s face and yet it appears he has no solutions to deal with these worrying developments,” he told GhanaWeb.

“So, we are urging Ghanaians to kick out President Akufo-Addo to enable better managers of our national security to take over,” he pleaded with Ghanaians,” he added.

I Laugh When NDC’s Running Mate Says Her Voter’s ID Was Duplicated, Is She More Important Than Rawlings? Koku Anyidoho Fires Again

Published

Former Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Koku Anyidoho has fired another ‘missile’ at his party, this time directed at the Party’s running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang.

Koku Anyidoho, who has for some time now been virtually ostracized from the NDC, has consistently fired direct and indirect jabs at some of the Party’s leaders who he claims are trying to take over the party.

His latest jab, in the form of a Tweet read, “I laugh when I hear that the Running Mate of the Umbrella says her Voter ID was duplicated: Is she more important than the FOUNDER of the NDC?”.

His post comes a day after the NDC flagbearer, John Mahama addressed a press conference, in which he revealed that the Party’s running mate is among the thousands of people whose names have allegedly been taken out of the voter’s register, or have had their voter’s ID numbers duplicated.

It is unclear why Mr. Anyidoho roped in the name of the NDC founder to make his comparison.

‘There Is A Grand Scheme To Rig The Elections’ – Suhuyini Alleges

Published

on

Member of Parliament for Tamale North Constituency, Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini has accused the Electoral Commission of deliberately scheming to rig the December 2020 polls in favour of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, the consistent flaws that have been associated with the work of the EC from the voters’ registration to exhibition exercise, is a clear indication that they are conspiring to rig the elections.

According to him, the short code that has been instituted by the EC to aid electorates verify their names is inaccurate, citing instances where people who had their names confirmed via the short code could not find their names when they went to verify in person.

“Do not rely on that short code because I know people who have checked with the short code and got feedback that their names were on the register but when they went to the polling station their names were not on the register.

“They got feedback using the short code that confirmed that they were on the register but they got to the polling stations itself and their names were not on the register. So let nobody rely on those short codes. Please make the time even if you do not have it to go and check to be sure that your name is on the register,” he said.

He added “All of these feed into the wieldy held perception that there is a grand scheme to rig the elections . On is major be an accident, two is a coincidence but you cannot tell me that three is not deliberate . When you begin to have so many reflags that are not dismissible , you cant easily dismiss them you don’t just continue to describe them as red flags .

“If you have a pattern of unexplainable happening especially around an election it will be fair for you to assume and conclude that there must be a deliberate attempt to either frustrate , to suppress of to rig.”
