NDC COVID-19 Response Team Reason For High Coronavirus Cases In Ghana- Kofi Ameyaw

Kofi Ameyaw, the Information Officer for Ghana’s mission, UN has condemned the National Democratic Congress’s(NDC) COVID-19 response team saying, that they were responsible for the overwhelming COVID-19 cases in the country .

Mr Ameyaw said, it was needless and meaningless in the first place for the NDC to set up a COVID-19 response team as it caused disparities with the divisive notion it created  in the national combat against the deadly pandemic by the president and the country.

According to Mr. Ameyaw, the main opposition’s party continual counteracting and politicizing of the COVID-19 information by the president has led to the creation of a wrong impression of the president and its administration’s fight against the deadly virus.

He criticized the NDC COVID-19 response team for distorting information by government in educating the public against the pandemic.

The Information Officer said, since the team had created the notion that the virus did not exist and that it was just a ploy by government to exploit and use state fund for its selfish gains, it was equally important that the citizenry are pitched against the government in order to win the fight against the coronavirus.

” . . the virus doesn’t care about who is wealthy or which country has the strongest economic structure, so I believe the only solution will be that of massive education about the disease; done continuously at all district and municipal centres, as well as enforcing the strict adherence of safety protocols by members of the public,” Mr Ameyaw opined.
