Mahama Will Be Our Flagbearer Again In 2024, We Have No Plans To Change Him – NDC Communications Team Member Hints
A Communication team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), T.T Caternor, has hinted that the party will present former president, John Dramani Mahama to contest for the 2024 elections.
That will be the fourth time the NDC will be presenting him for re-election after succeeding the late John Evans Atta-Mills.
Although it is unclear whether the former president has personally decided to contest in the 2024 election, his party will decide who will be their flagbearer come 2024.
Speaking on Atinka TV’s flagship Morning show, Ghana Nie, hosted by Nana Owusu Nkrumah, Mr Caternor said, “Whether he likes or not we are presenting him for 2024.”
He debunked rumours that John Mahama resorted to court after rejecting the verdict of the 2020 election to win sympathy from the people.
“NDC is going to court not only because of John Mahama, but the EC has breached a lot of the rules and if we do not look at it, it can happen to another person,” he said.
Mr Caternor said the process of declaring the results by the EC Chairperson, Mrs Jean Mensa was wrong, adding that she did so with the absence of the media and party representatives.
“These are some of the issues we are taking to court. the EC knows better and must come to explain. If the EC boss is confident in what she has done then we will depend on the judiciary for the final decision. We went to court for the benefit of the nation and not solely because of John Mahama,” he added.

One Would Expect Mahama To Be In A Hurry To Get The Runoff He Badly Needs – Gabby
New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart, Gabby Otchere Darko has said that anyone would expect National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama to be in a hurry with his election petition in order to take Akufo-Addo off the Presidency and get his runoff.
This comes after the Supreme Court ordered Mr Mahama to file his witness statements and arguments in response to the preliminary objection raised by the respondents latest by Wednesday, January 27.
“One would expect that John Mahama would rather be in a hurry to get an “illegitimate” president thrown out 4 the runoff done quickly for him to take his ‘rightful’ throne. Election petition: Justices take on Mahama’s team for not filing witness statements,” Gabby tweeted on Tuesday.

Supreme Court Orders Mahama’s Lawyers To Comply With Their Orders By Wednesday Or Face Sanctions
The Seven-member Supreme Court panel hearing the 2020 Election Petition has ordered the legal team of John Mahama to comply with its orders and file their witness statements by close of Wednesday.
The Court also warned that failure to comply with their order will attract sanctions as imposed by law.
The caution follows an explanation by Counsel for the Petitioner, Tony Lithur that they had opted not to file witness statements as ordered by the court due to pending applications earlier filed.
According to him, Mr. Mahama has filed a stay of proceedings along with an application for the apex court to review the dismissal of his permission to serve the EC some 12 interrogatories.
However, the court insisted that it’s earlier order must be complied with, failure of which can result in the dismissal of the petition.
