The presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama will on Thursday commence a four-day campaign tour of the Eastern Region.

He is set to address the chiefs and people, including Zongo chiefs and Imams, in a number of constituencies during the tour.

Mr. Mahama, who is expected to focus on key policies and promises in the People’s Manifesto, will also meet and interact with farmers, traders, okada riders, artisans, and drivers.

However, the former President’s Campaign tour comes at a time when he has been issued with a warning by some indigenous Akyem natives not to campaign on their land following supposed derogatory remarks made by Bolga Central MP, Isaac Adongo which was endorsed by the NDC flagbearer.

It will be recalled that the Chiefs and people of the three Akyem states; Abuakwa, Kotoku and Bosome in a protest, issued a one-week ultimatum to the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, to retract and apologise to Akyems for the “Akyem Sakawa Boys” tag or be banned from campaigning on any Akyem land.
