Honorable Sylvester Tetteh, a member of Parliament for the Bortianor-ngleshie Amanfro district in the Greater Accra region, has abandoned some claims leveled against former President John Mahama.

The MP said in a recent interview with Metro TV that John Mahama was the one who launched the sale of Achimota Forest.

“On September 5, 2013, the then-President of the Republic of Ghana, John Mahama, issued executive authority for the conversion of the forest reserve into an Echo Tourism Park in 2013 and for the distribution of the forest reserve’s periphery areas to the family,” he stated.

John Mahama, not Ghana’s current president, was the one who got things started. He also stated that the 2013 land transaction between the land family and the government resulted in a large number of land leases.

“I don’t want to believe that John Mahama was stealing the land at the time he made that decision,” he added.

Honorable Sylvester advised Ghanaians to remain calm, stating that the government has no intention of selling any land.
