Mahama Provided Spreadsheets As Evidence Instead Of Pink Sheets – Supreme Court Justice

One of the panel members on the just ended election petition, Justice Gertrude Torkornoo says the petitioner in the 2020 polls election petition did not help his own case after he failed to provide the court with pink sheets to support his claims.

According to her, the Electoral Commission’s decision correct anomalies in the declaration of the 2020 election results was in according with law; adding that it formed one of the basis for the judgement the panel of justices gave on the just-ended election petition.

She noted that the petitioner’s claims of vote padding could have been supported with pink sheets from the various polling stations instead of submitting a spreadsheet to the court.

“There was a spreadsheet alleging vote padding of 4,693 votes in 26 constituencies and we said we would have expected that the pink sheet for those polling stations would have been exhibited to prove the allegation instead of a spreadsheet,” she said at a high level post-election review workshop organized by the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO),

“The conclusion was that even if one took out these 4,693 votes, it would not impact on the 6million plus votes that the candidate we were dealing with.”
