Mahama Has Been The Most Busiest Former President In Africa – Ovation Media Boss

Published

on

Chairman of the Ovation Media Group, Chief Dele Momodu has described John Dramani Mahama as the most busiest former president he has ever seen in Africa.

Speaking on GhanaWeb’s  #SayItLoud show, Chief Momodu noted that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer had been invited to speak on several international platforms after his defeat in the 2016 elections.

According to him, John Mahama has joined the elites of great Africans and must be accorded that respect.

“You will see that he’s been the busiest former president I have seen in Africa, the busiest I am aware of. He travelled around everywhere. He was giving lectures in Harvard, Chicago State University, University of Chicago; he was everywhere. University of Johannesburg, the World Economic Summit, the Commonwealth was appointing him as election monitor in several African countries because of that wisdom.

“You lose an election, you don’t want anybody to spill blood, you move on…..so He has joined the pantheon of great Africans who have made Africans very proud.” Chief Dele noted.

Full Story: Asantehene Destools Dompoasehene Over Financial Impropriety, Other Charges

Published

on

Okofo Sobin Kan II, Dompoasehene– Adansi; was destooled yesterday, Thursday December 3, 2020, by Otumfoɔ Osɛi Tutu II, Asantehene.

The charges brought against Nana Dompoasehene were numerous and damaging. They included charges of financial impropriety, and embezzlement of Stool Revenue.

Nana Dompoasehene was also charged with misuse of Funds raised through special fundraising efforts such as community ‘harvests,’ which were then deposited in a Bank under agreed-upon Dompoase account, intended for specific community projects.

The Chief is said to have surreptitiously removed the money into his own personal bank account, without the knowledge or approval of the people. He was charged with misrule and tyranny; he did not consult his sub-Chiefs in taking decisions and did not respect their opinion. He was therefore accused of being tyrannical towards his counsellors and people.

Even more damaging was the accusation of engaging in sexual improprieties with the wives of a sub-Chief, and wives of his subjects. More disturbing was that he did so ‘by physically overpowering’ the women.

In the Twi words; “Na ɔto mɔnaa”. This is a serious charge that constitutes a flagrant crime, that potentially could lead to an uprising. Significantly, it is one of Ɔkomfo Anokye’s laws. It was one of the charges, among many that were levelled against then Asantehene Mensa Bonsu in his destoolment hearing in 1883 which led to his destoolment as occupant of the golden stool.

The Dompoasehene’s sub-Chiefs, therefore, concluded that they could no longer serve him as their Chief. As a result, all the Kumase Traditional divisions (FEKUO) (e.g. Konti; Akwamu; Gyaase; Nifa, Benkum); all agreed with the decision made by the Dompoase sub-Chiefs.

Otumfuo Santehene, in summation, agreed with the decision. The chief linguist of the Asantehene, Okyeame Kantankrankyi then ordered Otumfoɔ Brempɔn, Okofo Sobin Kan II’s Sandals to be removed. That signalled his ignominious end. He was thenceforth no longer Ɔbrempɔn Dompoasehene.

Dompoase is among a number of towns in Adansi that owe direct allegiance to Kumase, and therefore serve Kumaseman as Otumfuo Abrempon.

After Ntim Gyakari, Dankyirahene laid Adansi to waste, Abu Bonsra, Adansihene fled to Akyem with dozens of his Chiefs and their people. Following the defeat of Dankyira in 1701 by the “ASANTE” fighters, Osei Tutu Ɔpemsoɔ, who became the first Asantehene, asked all those who had fled from the tyranny of Bɔ Amponsem and Ntim Gyakari of Dankyira, to return, and rebuild their States and towns.

In the case of Adansi, Osɛi Tutu gave the name “Afriyie”, meaning one who had arrived at an opportune, propitious moment. Osei Tutu Beyɛɛman had given Adansiman its Freedom. So the Adansihene became known as Bonsra Afriyie.

Muslim Women ‘Attack’ Samira Bawumia Over What They Call “Her Inappropriate Dressing”

Published

on

A group of Muslim women known as Hijabbis have expressed their displeasure with the mode of dressing of the second lady, Mrs Samira Bawumia.

According to the group, the second lady, by virtue of her position, is supposed to be a role model of young Islamic ladies, however, her mode of dressing does the direct opposite.

Speaking at a press conference, the leader of the group, Hajia Mariam Abubakar explained that out of more than 6, 000 verses in the Quran, about half a dozen refer specifically to the way a woman should dress or walk in the public.

According to Hajia Abubakar, the clearest verse on the requirement of modest dress is Surah 24:31, telling women to guard their private parts and draw their Khimar over their bosom.

“As Muslims, the rule of dress for women is modest; the word HIJAB means “ Cover” and refers to a specific form of veil worn by some Muslim women”. She said.

“H.E Hajia Samira Bawumia who is supposed to be a role model to our Muslim youth have decided to dress like a model and a fashion Icon exposing her feminine attractions to men which have influenced their Muslim girls and women to do same. She added”.

The group also expressed disappointment in the second lady and her husband for what they term as failing to uphold the principles of Islam, even though this was what informed the decision of the Islam constituency to vote for the NPP in 2016.

Flashback 2017: How Islamic Cleric Predicted That Donald Trump And Akufo-Addo Will Be One Term Presidents

Published

on

An Islamic cleric and numerologist, Mallam Sham Una Ustaz Jibril prophesied in 2017 that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his US counterpart, Donald Trump will be one-term presidents.

In a Ghanaweb publication in 2017, Mallam Sham Una also said that Akufo-Addo and Donald Trump securing second terms as presidents depended on the fortunes of Nigerian president, Muhamadu Buhari because the three have the same star and also share the same spiritual destiny in the spiritual world.

He also predicted amongst other things, an abrupt end to Buhari’s first term in office through resignation, coup d’etat, or loss of the 2019 election.

His prediction about the Nigerian President did not come to pass though as President Muhamadu Buhari retained his seat in the 2019 Nigerian Elections.

However, his prediction about US President Donald Trump appears to have come to pass, barring any extreme judicial review.

It remains to be seen what will happen with President Akufo-Addo as Ghana heads to the polls on December 7th.
