Legal Fees Paid For The “Stinking Agyapa Deal” Can Pay Ghanaian Footballers For 4 Years – Sammy Gyamfi Brilliantly Lectures Gabby

Published

on

National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Sammy Gyamfi has brilliantly replied a leading member of the NPP, Gabby Asare Otchere Darko after the latter questioned the NDC’s commitment and capability to pay the monthly salaries of local-based footballers as they have espoused in their manifesto.

Mr Otchere Darko questioned the NDC’s commitment to add professional footballers to government payroll, raising an alarm over the ultimate cost to the taxpayer.

However, taking his time to narrate how the NDC arrived at the decision, Sammy Gyamfi explained that “the NDC recognizes the dire straits that our Sports Associations, particularly the Football fraternity and Premier League Clubs have endured in the past two years, first as a result of the disruption that was caused by the #12 investigations, and currently due to the debilitating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on Ghana football which has been halted since early this year

This is why, H.E John Dramani Mahama, the Nation Builder, has among other things, committed himself to establishing a Sports Development Fund to promote sports in Ghana when elected.

Page 86, paragraph 7.6.1 (f) of the Peoples’ Manifesto reads; We will…..; “use the Sports Development Fund to assist the Sports Associations to provide and improve remuneration and welfare of local sportsmen and women.”

Under this policy, any Premier League Club in need of financial assistance can among other things, apply for funds to remunerate their players and save their careers, sustain livelihoods and protect such clubs from going down.

As it has been the case for every other policy proposal contained in the NDC’s Peoples’ Manifesto, we have done the analysis and we know how much this social intervention will cost the nation and how we intend to fund it when elected.

For instance, with regards to the Ghana Premier League which has a total of 18 football clubs, with an average of 22 players each, should government support each team with remuneration of GHS1,500 per player, it will cost the nation an amount of GHS594,000 ((i.e. GHS33,000 × 18 clubs) every month. In four (4) years, it will cost the nation a total amount of GHS28,512,000 (i.e 594,000 × 48 months), equivalent to US$4.8 million dollars.

Any club which benefits from this intervention will be required to pay a small percentage of the transfer & sign-on fees of any of their players who gets a foreign contract into the revolving Sports Development Fund. This we believe will be a prudent use of public funds to regenerate and boost an industry that feeds many and continues to be the breeding grounds for burgeoning talents who go on to lift the name of Ghana high on the global stage.”

The firebrand communications officer also took a swipe at Mr Otchere Darko, reminding him that the cost of legal fees paid to his private law firm and that of his cronies is enough to sustain this particular policy for four years.

Did I hear the Nephew of President Akufo-Addo and Ghana’s De facto Prime Minister, Gabby Otchere Darko suggest that this laudable policy is not doable? For the records, the legal fees paid to Gabby Otchere Darko and his cronies under the stinking “Agyapa deal” alone can pay for this policy over a period of four (4) years, not to talk of the unprecedented waste of public funds we are witnessing under the obese and corrupt Akufo Addo-government“.

Akufo-Addo Speaks Big English Full Of Lies And Dishonesty – A Plus Fires Again

Published

on

Musician and political activist, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus has taken a swipe at President Akufo-Addo following inconsistencies in the President’s directives concerning the COVID-19 safety protocols.

In order to promote public safety amid the coronavirus pandemic, the government came out with a number of directives aimed at reducing the spread of the deadly virus.

Among the directives, Churches are supposed to meet for a maximum of 2 hours under strict social distancing and mask-wearing protocols, bars and night clubs remain closed, schools remain closed, among other directives.

However, A Plus has questioned why all these restrictions remain in place while the President’s own political party rallies and campaigns appear to throw caution to the wind when it comes to observing COVID safety protocols on their campaign trails.

Sharing a photo of one of NPP’s recent campaigns, A Plus questioned the rationale behind closing schools, banning football and restriction the Church’s time of worship.

The musician also slammed the President for speaking big grammar full of lies and dishonesty.

Karma Is A Ghanaian – Afia Schwar Mocks Kennedy Agyapong For ‘Falling Into The Same Pit He Dug For Obinim’

Published

on

This world, they say, is just like a mirror. It reflects whatever you do. Perhaps these words sum up exactly the sentiments of comedienne, Afia Schwarzenegger as she mocked loudmouth MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong for “falling into the same pit he dug for Bishop Obinim”.

A few months ago, the maverick lawmaker launched a one-man crusade against founder and leader of the International Godsway Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim and other men of God whom he described as fake.

In the ensuing months, the MP consistently sat on his privately-owned Net2TV every Monday and Wednesday to expose what he termed as the “crimes of thieves in cassock”.

After the lawmaker’s expose’, the embattled Obinim was dragged before court for alleged falsification of official police documents. The Bishop, in the few days after his arrest was admitted to hospital on claims that he was sick – claims that the lawmaker rubbished as ‘staged’.

Well, today it is the other way round. Ken Agyapong is standing trial for denigrating a court and insulting a judge. Yesterday, when he was expected to face the court and open his defence, the MP was absent on claims that he has suffered post-COVID-19 complications.

Interestingly, just like in the case of Obinim, it appears the judge presiding over the contempt case is not really buying the lawmaker’s claims of sickness, as he has ordered the Doctor who signed the medical report to appear before the court and explain his diagnosis.

Reacting to the issue, Afia Schwar took to Facebook to share screenshots of news stories to expose the MP’s situation and subtly mock him for falling into the exact trap he set for Bishop Obinim.

What Is Your Position On Western Togoland Sucessionists? – Mahama And NDC Queried

Published

on

Deputy Communications Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mame Yaa Aboagye says the opposition NDC come clear with its position on the Western Togoland Sucessionists and stop apportioning blames.

To her, the NDC’s stance from onset about the discussion of the Western Togoland Secessionists is one of inconsistency and dishonesty.

“When the secessionists earlier invaded parts of the Volta Region, NDC and Mr. Mahama quickly jumped into conclusion and began to apportion blames on President Akufo-Addo and the NPP for sending the Military to disenfranchise them about the Electoral Commission’s voters‘ registration and also to create fear and panic ahead of 2020 election.

“They also claimed that the NPP created confusion in the Region to prevent the Voltarians from coming out to vote on December 7 to make them lose more votes in order to make them (NDC) unpopular. But we all know the Military per intelligence was in some part of the Volta Region to protect the people against some of these issues.

“It seems the inconsistent NDC is in it again with another drama instigating that the government is behind the roadblock by the secessionists blaming NPP again for being reluctant in arresting the corporate. All I see in this issue is a big disconnect between the reality on the ground and inconsistency of the opposition party”, she said.

She urged political parties to allow the security agencies to do their work.

“Let’s resolve this issue devoid of politics because both NPP and NDC has its supporters in the Volta Region since the outcome will not affect only one political party, hence should leave the matter to the security experts for advice as far as this issue is concerned,” she stressed.
