Leave Naana Jane Out Of Your Ignorant And Mischievous Propaganda – UCC Professor Warns Captain Smart

A former Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof. George. K. T. Oduro has berated Angel FM Morning Show Host, Captain Smart, for showing unprofessionalism and ignorance with unfounded allegations against NDC running mate, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.

According to him Captain Smart’s claims of alleged payment of salaries into the accounts Prof. Opoku-Agyemang by the University of Cape Coast (UCC) were borne out of ignorance and mischief with no clear understanding of the issues of the institution.

Speaking to Benjamin Tetteh Nartey, Thursday, October 15 2020, in an interview on GBC Radio Central, the Educationist explained that, in the University environment, one is appointed a lecturer for a four to six-year contract basis and that is subject to renewal and not on part-time basis as claimed by the journalist while adding that no law stops anyone from being a lecturer and running for political office.

Prof. Oduro further explained that Prof. Opoku-Agyemang has some PhD candidates she is supervising, so if the university pays her for that work done, there is nothing wrong with that as it is in accordance with the university’s administrative arrangements that professors who are given post retirement contracts are not necessarily for teaching but for PhD supervision purposes.

He rubbished all other allegations put forward by Captain Smart against Prof. Opoku-Agyeman, stating that it’s just a propagandist move to destroy the hard earned reputation of the NDC Vice Presidential Candidate.
