Kwaku Baako Reacts To Prof. Ahwoi’s Book Over Claims About Prez Mills – Says “Dead Men Don’t Talk”

Veteran Ghanaian journalist and political critic, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr. has expressed shock about some revelations in Prof. Kwabena Ahwoi’s controversial book, “Working with Rawlings”.

The editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper has described some claims in the book especially those about late President John Evans Mills, as “unfair”.

Among other things, Mr. Baako speaking on Peace FM on Wednesday, August 6, also rubbished revelations by Prof. Ahwoi that the late Mills was belittled by former President Jerry Rawlings for not prosecuting appointees in the erstwhile Kufuor government.

He said;

“The lasting effect is that all the promises he made to fight corruption when he comes to power were not fulfilled and that is an attack on his memory. And yet it is seen as a light thing in a book of this nature by a great mind like Mr Ahwoi and released at this time.

He’s not here. Dead men don’t talk, can’t defend themselves. So, he’s not here even to make an input. It’s an attack on the man’s memory and his integrity.

There are elements of the book that must be subjected to scrutiny and it worries me. It has also been alleged that Professor Mills refused or failed to allow the prosecution of New Patriotic Party officials.

That’s a fallacy. That cannot be true but they all appear to believe it and they’re articulating it.”
