MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has fumed about what he describes as an attempt by Police in Kumasi to protect one Ansu Gyeabuor, a man whom the MP alleges as the killer of Ahmed Hussein Suale.

In January 2019, Ahmed Hussein Suale, an investigative journalist who had collaborated with the BBC to expose rot in African football was shot dead near his family home in Madina, Accra.

Prior to his shooting, MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong had splashed his photos all over TV, inciting his followers to assault him if they saw him anywhere near his premises.

Mr Agyapong has therefore been accused as the mastermind behind the murder even though he has denied it on all occassions.

In a latest interview with a US-based radio station, Ken Agyapong named one Ansu Gyeabuor as the man behind the murder of the journalist.

However, according to the Assin Central MP, it appears police in Kumasi are protecting the alleged murderer from facing the law.

Mr Agyapong claims that on several occassions when the police have attempted to effect the arrest, the alleged killer is given a tip-off by the Police to flee Kumasi.

According to the maverick MP, Police have showed him pictures of the said killer and he does not understand why they are still unable to cause his arrest after two years.
