Konadu Will Betray Her Loyalists, Commit Suicide By Rejoining NDC – Stephen Atubiga

Former member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Stephen Atubiga has said that former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings would betray those who supported her in her darkest periods should she take a decision to rejoin her former party[NDC].

His comments come as a reaction to the passionate appeal by Doctor Zenator Rawlings, the MP for Klottey Korle and daughter of President Rawlings of blessed memory.

Doctor Zenator in a charismatic speech urged the leadership of the NDC to reunite with her mother and other cadres who have lost touch with the party for a resounding victory in 2024.

She made this appeal at short ceremony held at the NDC headquarters on Friday, November 12, 2021 to commemorate the first year anniversary of late President Rawlings who is considered the founder of the party.

Following the unexpected appeal, members and former members of the party have been expressing different opinions particularly on social media. Whilst some insist the NDC must work and unit the party starting from the former First Lady, Stephen Atubiga who was dismissed from the NDC as a result of anti-party behavior appears to have a contrary opinion.

In a post sighted on his Facebook page on Saturday, Mr Atubiga maintains Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings will not only harm herself politcally but also inflict her loyalists with emotional injury if she goes back to the NDC.

“It would be political suicidal for Nana Konadu to rejoin the NDC; especially a betrayal to those who have stood by her through thick and thin till date”.
