Achiaa, a trader, has been beaten mercilessly by a city guard of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) at Kejetia.

In a video available to Adepa Gh TV, the KMA city guard was spotted kicking the woman from left to right whilst rolling on the ground.

The victim narrating her ordeal to Oyerepa online said she was preventing the city guard from seizing her goods, but he ended up beating her.

“We sell on the pavement. The KMA city guard was about to seize my things. When I refused to give them to him, he started beating me. He has destroyed all my things. What pains me is that I was not the only one selling on the pavement.” Achiaa lamented in tears.

An eyewitness, Felix Owusu Okyere said that some other guards nearly beat him in an attempt to stop them from beating the woman.

“I met the security guard beating and kicking the woman on the floor, whilst those around her looked unconcerned. I started taking videos as evidence. When I tried to stop the security guard from beating the woman, they all turned to attack me. ” He explained.

Felix lamented that he took the victim to the police station to lodge a complaint, but the officers there refused to attend to them, claiming the victim was selling on the pavement.
