Kafaba Sorcerer Who Declared Akua Denteh Witch Arrested

The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of the sorcerer who declared 90-year old Akua Denteh a witch, which eventually led to her lynching.

The sorcerer, according to the police was apprehended in her hideout in Yeji in the Savannah region on Monday night.

“Sherina Mohammed alias Alhajia, aged 40 and being the sorcerer who masterminded the lynching of 90-year-old Madam Akua Denteh, at Kafaba has been arrested at her hide-out at Yeji last night. She is in Police custody,” a post on the Ghana Police Facebook page read.

Madam Akua Denteh was beaten to death in Kafaba after being accused of witchcraft.
