PSG Star Kylian Mbappe has turns down Real Madrid’s deal as he could be set to complete a stunning U-turn and sign a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports in France.

Mbappe’s current deal expires at the end of the season and he had been widely expected to join Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer.

However, in a new twist, RMC Sport journalist Daniel Riolo has reported that the forward will instead pen fresh terms in Paris with an announcement being made as soon as next month. Riolo claims that French president Emmanuel Macron, as well as the Emir of Qatar, were involved in negotiations.

Despite these reports, we understands that Real remain confident of securing Mbappe’s signature.

Recruiting the free-scoring forward has been their transfer priority for some time, and they launched an audacious bid to sign him early last summer – only for talks to collapse on deadline day.

It is not hard to see why Real are so keen to get their man. Mbappe has enjoyed another incredible season this time out, registering 17 goals and 13 assists in just 27 Ligue 1 appearances.

His performances in the Champions League have been sublime too, with the 23-year-old netting in both legs of PSG’s last 16 tie against Los Blancos. That wasn’t enough to prevent the Parisians from crashing out of the competition though, after another spectacular collapse.

We understands that money is not the major issue for Mbappe this summer. Instead, he wants to feel fulfilled in a sporting project.
