Journalists Prevented From Covering Kennedy Agyapong Contempt Case Due To ‘Instructions From Above’

Journalists who were present to cover proceedings for the contempt case involving Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong were prevented from covering the proceedings.

Kennedy Agyapong is currently being charged with contempt after raining insults and threats on a judge who granted an injunction against him over a disputed piece of land.

According to Citinews,  members of the Judicial Press Corps present at the Court were prohibited from entering the premises.

Police personnel present explained their actions for turning away journalists as only following ‘instructions from above’.

The report, however, adds that after long exchanges between the pressmen and the police, representatives were sent into the courtroom on behalf of all the media houses present at the court.
