It’s Painful We Pilot Social Interventions And Make NPP Steal Them – NDC Chairman Laments

A former Vice Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr Daniel Agbodakpi has bemoaned how the party has failed to successfully implement many of its social intervention ideas.

According to him, the NDC during discussions have come up with brilliant social interventions to help the citizens, however they fail to materialize and only ends up being implemented by their political rivals, New Patriotic Party (NPP) who then take the praise for it.

He said this at a forum organised on Saturday by some members of the NDC, cadres to be precise, on the future of the party.

He further urged the NDC to be proud of its root and not blindly copy the NPP.

“It is so painful that we piloted primary health care programme only for Kufuor to come and take ownership of it. So many social interventions that we have disused but we haven’t implemented them. These are some of the challenges facing this party.”

“Comrades, I just want to remind ourselves of what our founder told us in 2016 at Cape Coast that we should not under any circumstance try to mimic the NPP.

He added “We are from a different stock, from a different ideological origin. We are social democrats. We may pretend we want to copy them but we will not be successful.
