It Was Needless To Call For Int’l Observers, We Run Our Elections Without Them – Mahama Slammed

Political Pressure group, Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA),has criticised National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama for caliing on International Observers to come down to the country immediately.

This comes after the former president expressed displeasure over activities of the Electoral Commission.

“I wish to appeal to the international community, international election observers and our domestic observers; given all that has gone amiss with the electoral process and the likelihood of continued greater challenges ahead of this year’s elections, I will want to urge them to focus their lenses on Ghana and arrive earlier in the country than ever before. This will enable them to engage the EC, IPAC and all stakeholders as part of efforts to resolve these major problems with the register,” he said at a press briefing on Thursday, September 24, 2020.

In reaction, the LMVCA told Starr FM that the call was unnecessary because the EC had already admitted its flaws and have assured it’ll fix them.

He added that Ghana has been running its elections without international observers therefore their presence here won’t be needed.
