IMF Negotiation: Include Non-NPP Experts – Gyampo to Gov’t
Political Science lecturer with the University of Ghana Prof Ransford Gyampo, has urged the government to include experts who do not belong to the ruling NPP to the negotiation team to meet the IMF.
He said for the sake of national interest, these independent minds must be included.
“The selection of a team to negotiate any IMF bailout, must not be saddled with Winner-Takes-All and Winner-Knows-All. Other experts and independent minds who aren’t party people must be included for the sake of the national interest,” Prof Gyampo said.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is expected to hold talks with the government today on a possible bailout amidst the economic crisis being faced by the country.
