IMANI Exposes Nana Addo Over Response To Amidu’s Resignation

The Vice President of policy think thank IMANI Africa, Bright Simons, has reacted to the Presidency’s response to the resignation of the Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu.

In a thread of tweets on Wednesday, Mr. Simons argued that the presidency despite its denial of interference wanted a compromised OSP.

He also pointed out some inconsistencies in the nine paged response document from the Presidency to Mr. Amidu.

4/ It is NOT correct that the Special Prosecutor did not give the Finance Ministry a "hearing" during the preparation of the risk assessment. A "hearing" need not be oral. The OSP received letters from the Ministry & incorporated the responses in the report b4 IT WAS FINALISED.
