Inspector-General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh has received and accepted the resignation request tended in by wife of late Mfantseman MP, Ophelia Hayford.

This comes after she was given the nod by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to succeed her late husband, Ekow Quansah Hayford.

Mrs Ophelia Hayford tendered in her resignation after many in her constituency called for her to replace the late husband.

Ekow Quansah Hayford was shot by gunmen last week while returning from a campaign trail in his constituency.
