I Will Fulfill All Campaign Promises – Sammy Awuku Assures Constituents

Looking ahead, the MP has outlined plans to establish a Teacher’s and Nurse’s Fund by mid-2025. This initiative follows extensive consultations with the Education and Health Directorates and aims to provide seed capital to teachers and nurses. Mr. Awuku expressed optimism that the fund will incentivize educators and healthcare professionals to accept postings and remain in remote areas within the constituency, thereby improving access to quality education and healthcare services for residents.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Akuapem North Constituency, Sammi Awuku, has reiterated his dedication to fulfilling all promises made to his constituents, even in the wake of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) defeat in the 2024 general elections. Mr. Awuku has been actively implementing initiatives aimed at supporting local communities, particularly farmers and traders, as part of his broader agenda to drive economic growth and improve livelihoods in the area.

One of his key initiatives is a monthly trade program designed to assist farmers in transporting their produce from rural villages to the Ofie Market Square at the Amanokrom Durbar grounds. This initiative provides free transportation, enabling farmers to access larger markets and increase their income. Additionally, Mr. Awuku has collaborated with rural banks to offer soft loans to farmers and market women, empowering them to expand their businesses and enhance their economic stability.

In a recent interview with the media following the successful launch of the initiative, Mr. Awuku announced his personal commitment to alleviating the financial burden on beneficiaries. He pledged to cover 25 percent of the 30 percent interest on the soft loans provided to farmers and traders, demonstrating his resolve to support their growth and sustainability.

Speaking to journalists during the launch of the Ofie Market at Amanokrom, Mr. Awuku emphasized his commitment to transparency and accountability in the use of public funds. He vowed not to divert any portion of his MP’s common fund for personal use, instead channeling it entirely toward initiatives that uplift the constituency.

“I have made a firm commitment that anything meant for the constituency as part of their common fund will be used judiciously to benefit the people. I will not take a single cedi for personal gain. My goal is to help lift our communities from poverty to prosperity,” he stated.

Mr. Awuku’s initiatives have been widely praised by constituents, who view them as a testament to his unwavering dedication to their welfare. As he continues to roll out programs aimed at economic empowerment and social development, the Akuapem North MP remains focused on delivering tangible results for his constituents, regardless of political challenges.
