I Want To Finish My Mother Because She Was Sleeping With Me Spiritually -Woman Tells Court

A 24-year-old unemployed woman nearly killed her own mother on the belief that she was spiritually sleeping with her.

During a quarrel between them in their home, the young woman inflicted knife cuts on the mother’s neck and back.

The young woman who was tried in Adentan Circuit Court is believed to have had multiple failed romances with males she hoped would be her marriage suitor.

The prosecution, Superintendent of Police Patience Mario, who examined both the mother and the accused (daughter), informed the court that the latter believes the mother is a witch and is to blame for her repeated unsuccessful relationships.

The accused and the mother had recently had an altercation, according to the prosecutor, following a visit both of them made to the accused’s boyfriend. Unfortunately, they met without the boyfriend, who had apparently left town for Takoradi.

When they returned home, the accused, frustrated by the situation, vented her rage on the mother. Supt. Patience Mario pleaded with the court to allow her to continue her investigation into what might have prompted the accused to attempt to murder the mother.

As the inquiry progresses, the accused [name withheld on suspicion of being mentally unstable] is expected to undergo some psychiatric testing. Fortunately, the mother survived, but she suffered fatal wounds to her neck.

The blade of the knife used by the accused fractured and became lodged in her neck, according to medical records. It was because of this that she didn’t bleed severely during the fight with her daughter.
