Popular Ghanaian comedian and actor Kalybos has acknowledged that he supported the New Patriotic Party during the 2020 elections in order to further his own interests.

The comedian was among the many famous people that promoted the NPP during the presidential elections, but they are currently singing a different tune.

He admitted to Giovani on the 3FM Drive that he regrets his deeds because the country is going through a difficult moment and the programs he supported are no longer effective.

“ I went ahead to campaign for the NPP Party because of certain policies that helped me. Let me just be selfish for once,” he started.

“ you will understand if you pay school fees. When I had not given birth to my child and was being bombarded with fees from innings every September, I thought Free SHS was my solution” said in twi.

“No, I was not paid. I was going in for the policies and it helped cos ever since that policy was implemented, now I coud save money and enter it into different projects”

But Kalybos said he doesn’t believe the NPP campaign has harmed his career.

“ No regret,” he answered when Giovani asked and added that “ That’s the thing with me, I didn’t put any career on the line. As I said it was for a motive and that’s what I wanted to see flourish. It didn’t dent any of my works”.

He also advised Ghanaians to keep hope alive in these tough times.
