As part of efforts to tackle human trafficking across the country, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has engaged stakeholders on a National Plan of Action.

This engagement was done in collaboration with Engage Now Africa, an NGO firm to identify the roles of key stakeholders and enhance collaboration and partnerships amongst them.

Speaking to Peace News, Head of the Human Trafficking Secretariat Unit at the Gender Ministry, Abena Anobea Asare said human trafficking is real and anybody can be a victim and everyone has a responsibility to play in dealing with it.

He called on the public to be vigilant and immediately report suspicious moves to the police.

Afasi Richard Dzipha who is the Suhum Facilitator of Engage Africa said the stakeholders are expected to go to the communities and partner with social welfare to help government meet its target of reducing human trafficking to the barest minimum by 2026.
