The Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu has made a strange U-Turn after a meeting with Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta over the controversial e-levy.

The NDC Caucus made a lot of noise after the finance minister presented the 2022 budget in Parliament.

The noise particularly stemmed from tw introduction of the e-levy which the minority caucus described as retrogressive and an additional burden on Ghanaians.

This had brought about heated exchanges between the two groups in Parliament that even till date, the fate of the 2022 budget remains uncertain.

However, Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu says after sitting down with the Finance Minister, he has come to realize that the e-levy is not so bad after all.

According to him, a week ago, there was absolutely no way his side would have agreed to the said levy but their position has changed after hearing the Finance Minister’s explanation.

He, however, begged government to consider a reduction from the proposed 1.75% to 1% in order to minimize the impact on Ghanaians.
