Gov’t Won’t Shield Anyone Culpable In The Ejura Killings- Bawumia Assures Ghanaians

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has assured that government will not shield anyone found culpable in the Ejura disturbances that led to the death of two protesting youth.

This follows a directive by President Akufo-Addo, calling for a public inquiry to be conducted into the circumstances surrounding the Ejura killing incident on Tuesday, which also left four persons severely injured.

The committee members include George Kingsley Koomson, Justice of the Court of Appeal as Chairman, Security Expert, Dr Vladimir Antwi Danso and Juliet Amoah, Executive Director of Penplusbyte, a civil society organisations.

The vice president who visited the town on Friday assured that government will strictly implementation recommendations that may come out after the public hearing.

Officials with the Vice President included Minister for National Security, Albert Kan Dapaah, the Ashanti Region Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, the National Chief Imam, Sheik Nuhu Usman Shaributu and his spokesperson, Sheik Aremeyaw Shaibu.

The delegation made donations towards the construction of a Police Divisional Headquarters, a project by the Ejura Traditional Authority.
