Government Is ‘Common Sense’ – Mahama Jabs Akufo Addo Over Collapsed Banks

Published

on

Former President John Dramani Mahama has taken a swipe at the President Akufo Addo led government over the collapsed banking and micro-financial institutions.

Addressing traditional and religious leaders in the Ketu North constituency as part of his campaign in the Volta region, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer bemoaned the unemployment rate that has unavoidably ballooned due to the exercise.

Mahama stated, “they’ve closed financial institutions. It’s not that the financial institutions didn’t have problems when we were in government, we knew there was a problem but we realised that the problem was a very complicated one and, so, we needed time to resolve it and make sure you don’t throw the baby away with the bathwater.”

“We needed GH¢9 billion to bail out the financial institutions that they closed down. Instead of investing GH¢9 billion and it’s not money they would have been throwing away because you would have injected GH¢9 billion, taken equity in those financial institutions and as they become liquid again, you give them back the equity and take your money back, simple!

He added, “that’s why I said government is common sense. And yet you go and collapse all these financial institutions and now you owe GH¢22 billion when you could have used GH¢9 billion to solve the problem. You create the problem and now you owe GH¢22 billion and you assure the people of their money and today they say ‘pay our money and that is another story.”

Mahama Spoke Foolishly – John Boadu Fumes Over The NDC Flagbearer’s Call On International Community

Published

on

General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu has slammed flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama for calling on the international community to as matter of urgency come and monitor the electoral processes in the country.

The former president had expressed displeasure over some missing names in the voters register and pleaded with the international community to come through to ensure a free and fair elections in the December polls.

Speaking on Okay FM in reaction, John Boady stated that the NDC flagbearer was in the wrong for making that call, describing it as foolish talk.

“Even when it comes to things that are normal as regards the Electoral Commission’s activities, Asiedu Nketia and his people are saying we should go and bring Angela Merkel and Tony Blair. These same international communities are having issues to deal with back home. Americans fight over their elections all the time. Recently, Trump said Republicans should vote double. So who are they going to bring? It is a foolish talk; don’t worry your head over it,” he said in local dialect Twi.

Former NDC Propaganda Secretary Betrays Mahama; Says Legalizing Okada Is Just Like Legalizing Armed Robbery

Published

on

A former Propaganda Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Lord Hamah has rubbished claims made by his party to the effect that they intend to legalize and regulate the activities of motorbikes for commercial purposes (Okada).

The Okada debate has been a fiercely contested issue ever since it was revealed at the launch of the NDC’s manifesto a few weeks ago.

Though the NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama believes that regulating the venture presents an opportunity of thousands of jobs for otherwise jobless persons, many others also believe that the venture poses serious road safety implications, among other adverse concerns.

Wading into the brouhaha, Lord Hamah, a former aspiring Parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress in the Tema East Constituency is of the opinion that legalizing the activities of Okada is similar to legalizing armed robbery.

4 More For More Punches – A Plus Teases NPP Over Charles Bissue’s ‘Career-threatening’ Punch

Published

on

Controversial musician and political activist, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus has taken a sly dig at the NPP regional secretary for the Western Region, Charles Bissue and the MP for Tarkwa Nsuaem, George Mireku Duker for their ‘open fight’ which resulted in biting and punching.

It will be recalled that this portal reported yesterday that the NPP Regional Secretary for Western Region, Charles Bissue has allegedly inflicted multiple wounds on the hand of the Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuem Constituency, George Mireku Duker after the former bit the hand of the latter during an exchange.

According to a report initially filed by MyNewsGh, the unfortunate incident occured at the Kingston Hotel in Takoradi where the Western Regional Executives of the NPP were meeting all the Party’s parliamentary candidates in the Region.

The report further indicated that there was a misunderstanding between the MP and the Regional party executive, but the latter in the raging confusion grabbed the MP’s hand and gave him multiple bites which left him bleeding profusely.

Today, as pictures began circulating of Charles Bissue’s badly ‘re-arranged’ face, A Plus has taken to his facebook page to mock the NPP, while describing the unfortunate incident as an affair between Agyapa boss and Galamsey boss.
