GHS Cautions Against Public Use Of Face Shields To Fight The Coronavirus

The Ghana Heath Service (GHS) has sent out an advice to all against the wrong use of face shields to combat the spread and infection of the deadly Coronavirus.

The GHS explained that, face shields were to compliment the face masks but not to be used as a replacement for the face mask.

There had been so many individuals in town wearing only the face shields as a protective wear against COVID-19 infection.

However, Dr. Asiedu Bekoe in a addressing the media at the Ministry of information, expounded that face masks are to be worn alongside the face shields to ensure effective usage.

He revealed that, the face shield was used by those who communicated through sign language so one could easily understand and perform lip reading.

H also said, the best way to stop the COVID-19 virus transfer was the use of the face mask not a face shield.
