Ghana Is Lucky Akufo-Addo Didn’t Pull Down Nkrumah’s Mausoleum For Cathedral – Kevin Taylor

Reacting to the government’s plans to withdraw the 2 GHC and the 1 GHC notes from circulation, the outspoken Ghanaian investigative journalist, Kevin Ekow Baido Taylor on his ‘With All Due Respect’ program yesterday indicated that Ghanaians are even lucky that President Akufo Addo didn’t pull down Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s Mausoleum to make way for the construction of the National Cathedral.

According to Kevin Taylor, President Akufo Addo has a misplaced priority about the country because he doesn’t know what we want and what we need as a country.

Kevin Taylor indicated that it doesn’t make sense for the government to destroy the 1 GHC and 2 GHC notes and opt for the use of coins just to get at Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

“I told you the last time that President Akufo Addo has this hatred for Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. He just doesn’t want to see anything with the name and image of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah on it. If he had his own way, he would have destroyed the Dr. Nkrumah Mausoleum.”

Kevin Taylor revealed that we are even lucky that President Akufo Addo didn’t have this idea when he wanted to build the National Cathedral, he would have destroyed the Dr. Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum to make way for the construction of the National Cathedral.

However, Kevin Taylor said he doesn’t blame President Akufo Addo too much because everybody knows he is a “toy” president and cannot think through matters that will benefit the people, but he blames the people and the minority in Parliament for giving them too much space to operate.
