Free SHS Has Never Been Financed With Any Loan – Ken Ofori-Atta
Finance Minster, Ken Ofori-Atta says no loan has been contracted to specifically finance the free senior high school policy.
He made this known on the floor of Parliament in response to a question by lawmaker for Builsa South, Clement Apaak.
Over the past five years, a total of 7.6 billion Ghana cedis has been allocated towards the implementation of the policy. Out of the amount, over 4 billion was sourced from GoG funding sources representing 54.76% whereas 3.44 billion cedis was sourced from the annual budget funding representing 45.24%, he said.
“Mr Speaker, government has taken no loan specifically finance Free SHS”, the finance minister intimated.
