A former Propaganda Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Lord Hamah has rubbished claims made by his party to the effect that they intend to legalize and regulate the activities of motorbikes for commercial purposes (Okada).

The Okada debate has been a fiercely contested issue ever since it was revealed at the launch of the NDC’s manifesto a few weeks ago.

Though the NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama believes that regulating the venture presents an opportunity of thousands of jobs for otherwise jobless persons, many others also believe that the venture poses serious road safety implications, among other adverse concerns.

Wading into the brouhaha, Lord Hamah, a former aspiring Parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress in the Tema East Constituency is of the opinion that legalizing the activities of Okada is similar to legalizing armed robbery.
