Former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, will appear on Ghana Broadcasting Corporation’s GTV Sports+ Channel on Thursday, February 10, 2022 to discuss topics concerning Ghana Football, particularly Ghana’s performance at the ongoing 2021 African Cup of Nations, AFCON.

On the broadcast, Mr. Nyantakyi will be joined by other sports analysts.

Mr. Nyantakyi, a banker and lawyer, served as President of the GFA from December 30, 2005 to June 7, 2018.

Mr. Nyantakyi has remained MIA since resigning and being barred from any football-related activity.

Nyantakyi resigned as a result of a video leaked by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas in which he was caught on camera collecting a bribe and claiming to be able to “take over the entire country” if he so desired.

He conducted an interview with Super Sports South Africa days after the footage was set to run, denying any misconduct related match-fixing.

On October 30, 2018, FIFA issued an official statement banning Kwesi Nantakyi from all football-related activities for life, however following a reassessment by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the sentence was reduced to 15 years in October 2020.
