Flagbearership Race: You Will Gets ‘Fans’ But Bawumia Will Beat You – University Don

A senior lecturer with the Kumasi Technical University, Dr. Samuel Afriyie has stated that aside Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, all other aspirants who have expressed interest in contesting for the flagbearership slot of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are only doing so to get the crowd cheer their name and bask in the glory the competition would bring.

Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show, Dr. Afriyie stated that “anybody contesting Bawumia is in the game just for fun and show the people that they are also around”.

He further warned contestants in the race to be weary of the cheers and ‘fans’ they are receiving from the crowd  knowing very well they don’t stand a chance in the contest.

Dr. Afriyie added that some of the crowd are urging some candidates on simply because they know it is an avenue to milk them financially.
