The NDC seem to have landed in hot waters after their latest arguments in the Supreme Court over the ongoing election petition hearing.

The counsels for Mr. Mahama have had issues with CI 99 which states that election petition cases should be dealt with within 42 days.

With them fuming, it has emerged that CI 99 was laid before Parliament and passed when one of Mr. Mahama’s counsels, Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong was the Attorney General.

Therefore most tweeps on microblogging platform twitter seem baffled that the NDC and its lawyers are arguing against a law passed under their watch.

Per Rule 69C (4) of C.I. 99, the pre-trial of the petition shall be on the 10th day after the filling of the petition, with hearing commencing on the 15th day and ending on the 21st day respectively after the filing, while judgment will be on the 42nd day. #NDCPassedCI99 pic.twitter.com/hJw3FWdHhX

They were expecting @NAkufoAddo to go to court in 2016 so that they could use this CI 99 against him. But God being so good, the CI 99 is now being used against @JDMahama.

NDC whiles passing CI 99 thought they were doing NPP a disservice by shortening the time frame. Today NDC is wailing over an instrument proposed and enacted by themselves. This is preposterous.
